Is India heading for a recession or is it the millennial being rational?

There is a slowdown in the automobile sector and the sales did not boost up during the festival season 2019. Even with the government providing stimulus, the car sales didn't pick up. There is another news about "Amazon.in sells Rs 750 cr worth of premium smartphones; Flipkart sees 2X growth on day 1" ( source ). Well that is a whopping 750 crore just for the premium smartphone by one seller in one day. And the total sales would be very much higher this festive season. So, can we consider the slow down in automobile sector as a sign of an economic slowdown?

The impact of LED bulbs on our nature

L.E.D bulbs are unquestionably a revolutionary product that can save electricity compared to the incandescent bulbs. The LED bulbs have long life compared to their incandescent counter parts and also consume less electricity. The LED bulbs that are available from stores have a life of approximately 5 years on 8 hours of daily use and the companies give 1 or 2 years replacement guarantee. Now comes the problem. The incandescent bulbs have zero percent plastic, but LEDs are almost completely made of plastic. When they expire they are also contributing to the landfill and will create big problems. They have electronic components that are also dangerous when damaged. So, when touting LEDs as a big saver, the companies should also have the responsibility to take back the expired ones and recycle properly instead of going to land fill. The big benefit is that most LEDs may have only one or two components damaged. So, they can replace the component on very low cost and sell the refurbishe...

What happens next with the demonetization of ₹1000 and ₹500 currency notes

Indian Government have taken a very bold step to demonetize the prevailing ₹1000 and ₹500 currency notes. This have created chaos and inconvenience for the public, sure this have made good impact on the economy with crores of rupees flooding the bank accounts. The sudden vanishing of Trillions of rupee from the economy added with the lack of availability of lower denomination notes have caused a sudden lose of purchasing power for the Indian people temporarily. The Government have assured to address the lack of currency in the next 50 days. But that means there will be more surprising steps in the coming days. Consider the new ₹2000 currency note. It is just a piece of paper with such a low quality that it cannot endure the day-to-day use. The common man does not need such a high denomination note for his day to day use. One day can be managed by below ₹1000. So what are the plans. The current lack of availability of ₹2000 currency notes means the RBI is considering this a...

Best way to get portable WiFi Internet in India for light or medium users

I think this post will benefit users who are thinking to get Internet in their mobile devices. If you are a light internet user and have multiple devices, one way you can choose is to tether your connection with your devices. This will drain battery on your device. Otherwise you will need to buy Internet packs on all the devices which will not be a cost-effective method. My plan is to have a single connection that can be shared with all the devices so that you need only one data plan and the devices will be connected with WiFi means less battery drain. The initial investment is a bit high though ;-) The devices you need are: GSM WiFi dongle that usually supports 5 - 10 devices to be connected at once. ( Sample ) USB power-bank. ( Sample ) BSNL GSM connection with Internet. I chose BSNL as this is the cheapest with Rs.155 for 1GB data as of now and will support both 3G and 2G on this pack. Setup is simple, slide in the SIM to the WiFi dongle and connect t...

Google chopped off J&K from INDIA !!!

Image
I was really shocked to see that J&K was not included in the map of INDIA that Google show in Analytics. The state is not given to any other country, thank God. Some time before, a part of the state was shown as disputed territory. Now, they have totally cut-off them from INDIA. This is the screen shot of what I saw just now in "http://www.google.com/analytics/" site. I believe the Government should ask Google to stop showing these type of maps. Map of INDIA without J&K

MONEY IS YOURS BUT RESOURCES BELONG TO SOCIETY

This is from a mail forward I got from my friend. I'm not sure if this is real, but the idea is not fun. We are living in a world where you mostly judge people by their appearance and their behavior. I have seen many group of people wearing all sorts of modern fashion (let them believe it...) and creating noise in public places. But when you single out a person and ask, he might be from a not-so-high-funda family, but showing all this stuff just to be in the company of one or two of their millionaire friends... In their company they do all sorts of mischief, knowing that it is wrong. They race their cars in public roads, spend money unnecessarily, waste food and like. But, coming to the point, wasting resources, we also do this, knowingly or un-knowingly at some point. Try to limit your resource utilization, because there are many out there who are not able to get food at least once a day. now read on... Below is a note written by an Anonymous visitor to Germany.
